... All about things that matter to me

I know not too long ago I mentioned I was replacing EverNote with 3Banana as the note taking application I used. Well, just as I change my mind on whether to develop this site or just run an off-the-shelf CMS, I've had another look at Evernote and changed my mind about it. I wanted an app which worked everywhere, and with the big money being thrown at EverNote recently, I thought I'd give it another chance.

I've been trialling the new EverNote 2.0 for Android for a week or so as a Beta, and it's a colossal improvement over the version 1 application, whose interface was clunky and seemed to focus solely on entering new notes (accessing and editing existing notes took far too many clicks and too much time). Now they've vastly improved the interface and accessing all functions is both easier and an awful lot quicker.

With the recent rewrite of the windows client, I'll have to try to figure out how to get it to work under Wine (it installs fine and runs up but the window is too small to be able to log in). No doubt if I fiddled with it a bit I'd be able to get it to work fine but for now the Android and Web combination is working well for me. I'm using Evernote to keep track of ideas and anything I need to jot down, and backing it up with Google Calendar and Remember the Milk for lists.
