This site hasn't been updated very frequently recently (I blame the kids), but I'm trying to make an effort to put more content up, some long articles, some short posts, but definitely more stuff. I'm keen to keep hold of my "social graph", and I'm really looking forward to when Diaspora becomes publicly available. I'm not under any illusions that it will displace Facebook overnight, but it's definitely where I want to be.
This means I'll probably be putting updates here rather than directly on the two major social networks, so that I know that I own the content, and it'll hopefully make this site a bit more of an interesting read too. At the moment writing a blog post on richbeales.net involves writing raw html and editing 3 database tables in MySQL query browser, so I've got some work to do to make the site a bit cleverer (I've considered and rejected the idea of going with an off-the-shelf solution). There'll also be some backend and some frontend changes on their way soon. I'll probably also get rid of the front page as blog sites don't seem to have them, and i've always struggled to think of stuff to put on there anyway.
So, keep an eye out for more of everything, right here, coming soon.
